Ammonites are a fossil which have a beautiful spiral-form shell.  These creatures lived in the seas up to 65 million years ago, when they became extinct along with the dinosaurs.  The name 'ammonite' originates from the Greek ram-horned god called Ammon.  Ammonites are similar to the modern day nautilus.

This piece is cast in Antique brass and the pendant is 1 1/2" diameter with at 18" long brass chain.
